Katie took her first traditional (hot) Hatha Yoga class in 2001 and was immediately hooked. She realized that the painful symptoms she had from over use in her arms was disappearing and that she was able to heal her body through this practice. She began to feel stronger not just physically but also mentally.
Katie's been a runner and athlete since almost before she could walk. Finding the yoga asana, breath control (pranayama) has for been an absolutely necessary compliment to her life as an athlete.
In fall of 2008 Katie became certified in Bikram Yoga.
She finds teaching this method incredibly rewarding. She loves witnessing people overcome their own struggles, ‘see’ themselves and realize how wonderful they truly are.
