The SweatBox Yoga has been serving Capitol Hill since 2001. Our mission has been to cultivate and nurture a diverse and supportive environment for students of ALL practice levels who value health, wellness and community. As such, our offerings support physical, emotional and spiritual growth for all yoga practitioners by teaching with open minds and open hearts.

We believe we have the best teachers in Seattle… all have a minimum 200-Hour certification and teach from a trauma-informed lens. While we have historically been “Only Pure Bikram,” over the last decade our vision has evolved to be more expansive. The SweatBox has worked to enhance our offerings to honor the many paths of Yoga, helping our students deepen their practice, while continually building our community. Welcome to the SweatBox family! #sweatboxlovesyou

The Loft at SweatBox Yoga is open!

Join us for unheated Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and special offerings.

The Loft is located upstairs from the main studio. Pre-registration required, as space is limited. Upon booking your class, you will receive an email confirmation with directions to access the space. There are no changing rooms, bathrooms are down the hall. The Loft is a cash-free studio. Please power down your cell phone upon entering the studio and keep your belongings in the cubbies.

To celebrate, we are offering a “Intro to The Loft Special” - $55 for 14 days of unlimited yoga! This is available to ALL students, even if you have practiced with us for years, and can be used at our main, hot yoga studio as well. Limit to one purchase per client.

Dear SweatBox family,

Practicing yoga isn’t just moving our bodies through various shapes…it is living the principles of the 8 Limbs of Yoga off the mat and in the community. We practice the 1st limb of Yamas (restraints) when we lead with love/non-violence or Ahimsa in our relationships with ourselves and others. Though it is not always easy, I do my best to let Ahimsa be my guide in daily life. Within the 2nd limb of the Niyamas (observances), we learn that we can practice contentment/Santosha with our selves, while still knowing we can always strive to be better via Tapas or self-discipline. In our classes, we practice Pranayama or breathwork (3rd limb) to connect our mind to our bodies and move stuck energy….this is an incredible tool for dealing with so many obstacles or situations in our lives. And as we ultimately work towards Samadhi or enlightenment (8th limb), we understand that Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation) are found not just during Asana (postures), but in how we move through the world. How we do one thing is how we do anything.

All this is to say that as we move more through our beautiful outer world via the mountains of the PNW, do not forget the importance of your inner world. Stay grounded, connected to yourself and your community. Come back to your mat often.

Much love,

Frani and your SweatBox teachers

Community

Our mission at The SweatBox has always focused on the importance of community and that all students feel welcome. This remains true even if we are unable to physically share space. If you are financially unable to attend in-studio classes, you can still practice with us in our recorded online classes for free (see below).

We know not everyone can practice in person and miss the profound energy we create when we breathe and practice together in the yoga studio. Know that you can tap into that energy when you need it most and that your SweatBox family is here for you when you feel ready to practice in-person again. We are still recovering from the financial strain of the pandemic, so if you would like to donate to help us keep our doors, click the button below.
