The SweatBox offers Traditional Hot Yoga as well as Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. We also offer a hot-hybrid blend of Traditional Hot and Vinyasa and various yoga-related workshops and classes, all of which improve strength, flexibility and balance while simultaneously enhancing awareness and promoting a calm sense of being. Our classes are appropriate for all levels and ages.
Please bring a big towel, a water bottle and a yoga mat if you have one. Yoga mats and towels are required and available to rent for $2.00 each. Because the room is heated, wear light stretchy clothing, shorts, tank top or swimsuit.
Please note: First-time students to The SweatBox, please arrive 20 minutes before class time. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian's signature in order to practice.
Below is a description of our class offerings:
TH 90-Traditional Hot 90 minute Yoga Class. 26 postures, 2 breathing exercises. Practiced in a 105 degree room. This set series is rigorous and invigorating. Great for all levels.Hot, fun, thorough!
PH 60-Power Hour is a faster version of our 90 minute class. Same postures done in a series, but with a little bit more built-in flow and only 60 minutes. This class is also good for all levels. Practiced in a 105 degree room- 26 postures, 2 breathing exercises.
Vin 60- Vinyasa Flow is 60 minute class; a flowing of traditional postures partnered with breath. Unlike Traditional Hot Yoga, this class is not a set series. Build your practice and learn something new. Come and expand your strength and flexibility- physically AND mentally. Appropriate for all levels. 90-95 degrees.
HH 60- Hot Hybrid is a creative combination of Vinyasa and Traditional Hot styles practiced in the heat (95-100 degrees) for one hour. You'll do some of everything in this class-- it's fun, inspiring and rigorous. Appropriate for all levels. A great addition to both Traditional Hot and Vinyasa practices.
Yin 75 - Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with asanas (poses), that are held for longer periods of time-five minutes or more per pose is typical. Yin, which is a 75 minute class, is not heated and is a great pairing with a more yang style like Traditional Hot or Vinyasa because Yin offers a much deeper access to the body. This is an ideal practice by itself or following a Traditional Hot or Vinyasa class or on its own as a way to restore and reenergize. Appropriate for all levels. The Yin classes all take place in The SweatBox Loft. There are no showers or changing rooms in the loft, though there are bathrooms where you can change clothes if you need.
Yoga Nidra -Everyone needs a way to feel at ease when life gets challenging and it’s possible to find this even during your short lunch hour. iRest (Integrative Restoration) Yoga Nidra helps you tap into a place that is calm - even when life is not. Spend an hour doing Yoga Nidra Tuesdays at noon at The SweatBox Loft. Use code 9642 to access Loft door. Studio is at the top of ramp to the right.iRest Yoga Nidra, is a deeply restorative, often contemplative and revelatory practice. During this guided meditation you will focus on body and breath sensing and Some people use iRest to relax when life gets busy. Others use it to help heal from: serious trauma, stress, insomnia, depression, PTSD, chronic pain and chemical dependency.The Yoga Nidra classes all take place in The SweatBox Loft. There are no showers or changing rooms in the loft, though there are bathrooms where you can change clothes if you need.
Ghosh 75- This class is designed for long-term practitioners of our Traditional Hot Yoga to take their practice to the next level. Just like the TH90, we start with a 30-35 minute standing series which includes sun, moon and warrior salutations, as well as many postures from the Tradition standing series. For the last 35-40 minutes of class we will explore other series from the Ghosh lineage including more difficult postures such as inversions, arm balances, and lotus variations.
What to know your first day:
- Please arrive 20 minutes early on the day of your first class.
- Bring a yoga mat, a bath-sized towel, an extra towel if you plan on showering.
- We have mats and towels for rent and bottles of water for sale.
- Please bring a water bottle; we have filtered water to fill your bottle.
- Come to practice on an empty stomach and please be well hydrated.
- Wear light clothing.
- No late arrivals please. Instructor will lock the front door when class begins.
- Be sure to take as many rests as you need and take care of yourself. You are your best teacher.
